It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Bruce Speers, 50, on April 23, 2008 at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.

The deceased was born on March 1, 1958 in Ottawa. He married Kelly Lee Salmon on Oct. 24, 1981 in Vankoughnet, Ontario.

Mr. Speers is survived by his father Jim Speers of Dorset. Loving father of Lindsay (George) Ward of Huntsville and Jeff of Huntsville. Also survived by his sister Patty Fraser (Ottawa), brother Ted Speers (Oakville) and grandmother Mary Speers (Almonte), and numerous family members.

Mr. Speers was a sales rep for northern Ontario with AluminArt for 25 years. He was a member of the Canadian Professional Sales Association.

Bruce enjoyed many summers as a soccer coach with the Huntsville Soccer Club. He will be greatly missed by his many friends, co-workers and business associates.

Funeral service was held at All Saints’ Anglican Church conducted by Reverend Dawn Henderson on Monday, April 23, 2008 at 11 a.m., followed by cremation.

A private family service will be held at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers were George Ward, Bill Kewley, Ted Marsden, Joe Caccamo, John Burnside and Scott Watkin. Honourary pallbearers were Martin Conway and Bill Branch.
