As a dispatcher with the police services in Hamilton I would hope that the actions of the two Hamilton police officers do not go unnoticed in regards to the residential fire at the seniors’ home on Sunday evening.
I was greatly affected by the story they told when they got back to Hamilton at about 5 a.m. and wondered that had fate (or a greater power) not had them in that spot at that time what the tragic outcome might have been.
I don’t think that it is my place to mention them by name, although they are both fantastic men and great policemen. Along with the heroic staff, there were two other heroes that night who saw a light in the distance and without thinking, put public safety first and went to assist.
Officers are sworn for the whole province and these two are a great example of that fact.
