Kids deserve poop-free place to play at recess
Apr 23, 2008

My name is Aaron Rand and I’m a student of Huntsville Public School. I’m writing this letter because people are bringing their dogs to our school late in the evening and allowing dogs to poop on our yard without picking up after them. This is disrespectful and it shows laziness.

If people bring their dogs to our school they should pick it up because we use our field to play football, soccer, etc. Our custodians have to go out and scoop up all the dog poop that people’s dogs leave. The custodians shouldn’t have to scoop up all of it because they already do more than enough around the school. We don’t have a gate for our school either because teens come and play basketball, football and even baseball.

Furthermore, if there is dog poop on the field and it gets really hot then it really stinks. If it rains it looks just like mud and kids fall in it. Students

should not have to deal with this problem because it’s disgusting, disrespectful and shows laziness.
