I have concerns about the community coming to my school and letting their dogs do their business on our lawn and not cleaning it up. It is irresponsible to not clean up after their dogs.
Unfortunately, the students and teachers of Huntsville Public School end up accidentally stepping in dog poop. We are tired of this because we enjoy playing games in our school yard and if we have dogs doing their business then we are not able to play in the field on our lunch breaks. The dogs are doing their business after school hours. People of Huntsville are coming to our school and playing with their dogs and children and when their dogs poop they leave it for our custodians to clean it up.
The custodians are not the happiest people when they see the dog poop on our lawn, either. They end up getting out the shovel and cleaning as much as they can find. They shouldn’t have to worry about cleaning up the dogs’ poop when they could be fixing something that needs to be fixed inside the school. It’s not the custodian’s job to be cleaning up dogs’ business. It is the owner’s job.
It shows that some people in our town who own dogs do not clean up after them are just being lazy and irresponsible. It is unfair to the custodians, teachers and students at Huntsville Public School. It is also unfair to the rest of the community because we are stuck stepping in it, cleaning it up and having to smell it every day.
So please, people of Huntsville, it would be great if everyone that comes to play with their dogs at HPS to start cleaning up their dogs’ business.
