Law, Ida Emily
Apr 23, 2008

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Ida Emily Law, 83, at Fairvern Nursing Home on Good Friday, March 21, 2008.

Ida was born on Nov. 25, 1924 in St. Patrick’s, Quebec, a daughter to Albert Stevenson and Lillian Stevenson (nee Mann) and moved to Huntsville as a young woman. She married Bruce A. Law, who survives her, in Huntsville where they made their home.

Mrs. Law is survived by their son, Bruce A.A. Law and wife Ronna and those she was grandmother to, Richard and Erica, all of Huntsville, sister Harriette Robinson and her family of St. Jerome, Quebec and brother Ernest Stevenson, his wife Phyllis, and their family of St. Patrick’s, Quebec.

Ida Law is also survived by brother-in-law Arley Law, sisters-in-law Joyce Law, Audrey Earl, Annie Stevenson and their families, all of Huntsville.

Mrs. Law is predeceased by brother Thomas Stevenson (Katrine, Ontario), brothers-in-law Vern Robinson (St. Jerome, PQ) and George Law (Huntsville, Ontario).

Miss Ida, as she became known, found incredible joy in loving and caring for her family.

She extended her heart and hands to all, continuously reaching out to anyone in need. Her love of life was evident in the passion she had for music. She played the violin and piano.

Miss Ida’s warmth, her bright smile and sense of humour will be greatly missed.

A private celebration of Ida’s life was held at Mitchell Funeral Home on March 26 with Archdeacon Dawn Henderson officiating. Interment will take place at Hutcheson Memorial Cemetery.
