Yearley and Aspdin News

I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather we are having.

The Aspdin annual meeting is Wednesday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Aspdin Community Centre. Everyone is welcome to come and help keep the centre alive and healthy.

 The scores for the Aspdin card party April 8 were: first, Nelson Buzbuzian, 84; second, Edith Flood, 82; third, Barb Greig, 80; fourth, Bob Greig, 77; most lone hands, Bob Greig, five; door prize, Edith Flood; 50/50 draw, Nelson Buzbuzian.

The scores for the Aspdin card party April 15 were: first, Edith Flood, 89; second, May Maillet, 84; third, Terry Savory, 82; fourth, Flo Feldman, 81; most lone hands, Barb Greig, six; 50/50 draw, Ruth Thompson; door prize, Wendy Sawyer.

The Aspdin WI and the Aspdin Community Centre are having a potluck dinner today,  Wednesday April 23 at noon for all the seniors in the Aspdin Yearley area.

It is a good opportunity to get together with  your neighbours and find out what is going on in our community. Conversation is one of the cheapest  and greatest pastimes in life, so come and enjoy it with friends.

Happy belated birthday to little Isaiah Dudink, who had his first birthday on April 10.

Congratulations to the cast of Annie and everyone involved in its production. It was great.  We really loved little Annie and the other children. Everyone played their parts so well. It really was a must see.

A word from the kitchen: Did you know that if you store your opened chunks of cheese in aluminum foil, it will stay fresh much longer and not mold?
