Slower growth may be a good thing for Huntsville

What qualifications do our local politicians have? If anyone else is applying for a job looking after the interests of thousands of people, surely they have to be qualified.

I look after a household. I must prioritize. You go down the list of necessities until the money runs out and then you stop. If we can’t afford to do something it doesn’t get done. I can’t demand more money from those that pay my wages just because I screwed up somewhere, and can’t make my car payment.

Why does the town not require enough in development fees to account for the infrastructure to support the development in addition to maintaining our existing facilities? Is it because the fees would be too high and impact future development? So what?

What was wrong with Muskoka 20 years ago? What would be wrong with it if it failed to grow more than one or two percent in the next 10 years? It’s about time our district and municipal leaders started prioritizing and stopped allowing development we can’t afford either financially or environmentally.
