With great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Barbara Ann Sheen on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at Huntsville Memorial Hospital.
Barbara was born in Oshawa on Feb. 1, 1933, the daughter of Albert James Parkhill, QC and Olivia Madeline Parkhill.
She married Harold Sheen on April 17, 1982 in Toronto. Her husband predeceased her on Dec. 23, 2007.
Barbara is survived by her twin sister, Beverley Jane (Willard) Eastwood, daughter Beverley Jill Thompson and Jill’s son Jason Paul; stepchildren Sandra (Monti), Steven and Ron; daughter-in-law Trina; stepgrandchildren Trista and Ryan, Jennifer and Leanna.
Barbara is predeceased by former husband Robert Schoenau, daughter Karen Ann Schoenau, sisters Margaret Mary Parkhill (predeceased Feb. 29, 2008 and Eleanor Tilley Laskowski.
Also survived by nephews and nieces and families of sister Margaret, Douglas and Lynn East, Stephen and Anne East, Clifford and family, Beverly East and Misty and Keith. Predeceased by Barbara Ann East (named after Barbara).
Barbara was very gracious, charming and full of fun and laughter. She loved her garden and animals and was a friend to everyone she met. She loved curling, golfing and making dolls for younger and older generations.
When Barbara and Harold moved to Huntsville 24 years ago, they became very active in the Farmers’ Market. Barbara served as president for two years. She was also a member of Club 55.
A celebration of Barbara’s life was held at Mitchell’s Funeral Home, Huntsville on Saturday, April 12 at 3 p.m. with Reverend Derek Shelly officiating. If desired, memorial donations to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation or charity of choice would be appreciated.
