In loving memory of Kennard Lawrence Gibbs, 90, who passed away April 6, 2008 at Extendicare, York.
Born in McCully township, Bracebridge on March 17, 1918, he spent much of his young life in Huntsville, Ontario before going overseas in the army for five years.
On his return, he worked for a number of years for Muskoka Woods before they sold out to the Hay Company.
He married Mildred Peacock in 1947. He later moved north to Sudbury where Kennard worked underground for Inco until his retirement in 1979.
Beloved husband of Mildred Pauline Gibbs (nee Peacock) of Sudbury. Loving father of Phyllis Ouelette and Albert Legacy, Jack Gibbs and Catherine Sommerville, David and Lynn Gibbs, all of Sudbury, Susan Gibbs and Peter Van Hoof of Pembroke, Pauline and Gilles Veilleux of Timmins and Richard Gibbs and Lori Guenette of Brockville. Grandfather of 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Beloved son of John and Susan Gibbs, both predeceased. Dear brother of Bertha May Pamatear and husband Ed of Ajax, Ontario, Kenneth (predeceased) of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Herman (predeceased) of Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Fred and wife Helen of Terrace, B.C. and Henry (predeceased) of Bracebridge.
A private family funeral was held. In lieu of flowers, donations to Pet Save or your favourite charity would be greatly appreciated.
