Our library has won the People’s Choice Award for business excellence by the Huntsville/Lake of Bays Chamber of Commerce. Peggy was presented with a stone trophy which was too heavy for her to carry. Now everyone will know just what a great library we have in Dwight. The trophy is being engraved but we hope to see it on display in the library soon.
Stewart Memorial United Church will re-open on Sunday, April 6 at 10:15 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The annual euchre games to aid the Canadian Cancer Society will be at the Lakeview Seniors’ Hall next Tuesday, April 8 beginning at 7 p.m. There will be refreshments and prizes. Admission is $5.
The Dwight Lions Club invites you to their annual turkey dinner at the community centre on Saturday, April 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be homemade pie for dessert donated by the Dwight Women’s Institute. Dinner is $13 for adults and $6 for children. All proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society. Remember, all money collected in our area is spent delivering patients to their treatment centres.
The next meeting of the book club will be at the library on Tuesday, April 15 beginning at 1:30 p.m. The book to be discussed is The Girls by Lori Lansens. Everyone is welcome at the book club.
If you have a digital camera, do you know what all the buttons mean? Debbie Bradley will give a workshop at the library called “Learning to use your compact digital camera” on Tuesday, April 22 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $25.
A healing circle will begin at the community centre on Thursday, April 24 from 7 to 9 p.m. This is an open, casual event with a safe, supportive environment for anyone who is experiencing difficulties in their life. You may find comfort in this circle.
