Yearley and Aspdin News

The scores for the Aspdin card party Mach 18  were: first, Barb Greig, 91; second, Wendy Sawyer, 84; third, Bev Erichsen-Brown, 79; fourth, May Maillet, 78; most lone hands, Barb Greig, six; 50/50 draw, Les Bigelow; door prize, Flo Feldman.

The Rebekah Past Grands will start again on Tuesday, April 8 with a potluck at 6 p.m. at the home of Alice Avery.

The Du-Ya-Wannas meet on Thursday, April 3, 7:30 p.m. in the community room at Independent Grocers.

Happy birthday to Chantalle Leason and Brian Hawes March 26, Richard Bradley March 27, David Lamb and Alice Avery March 31, and Joy Botting April 1.

Easter Visitors for Roy and I were Rob, Joy, Jason and Mark Galloway from Timmins, Bonnie and Brian Small from Campbellville,  Leeanne Boreham from Brampton and Bruce and Joyce Bennett.

We send our condolences to Joan and Stan Risto on the loss of Joan’s brother-in-law.

Now that spring is officially here it’s time to start planning the garden. That’s kind of hard to do with all that snow hanging around.

Helpful hint: Painting the inside of your flower boxes as well as the outside (use latex paint) will reduce the chance of rats and insects taking over.
