Minor midgets head into finals
Mar 26, 2008

The Huntsville MBRP minor midget team is still skating strong after a very long and successful season.

The midgets made it all the way to the Ontario Minor Hockey Association semifinals but ended up losing out in Game 4  in a best three-out-of-five to a very strong but evenly matched team from Lindsay.

Now the midgets have set their sights on the Muskoka Parry Sound Hockey League championship, which started with a 5-3 victory over Parry Sound last week.

Branden Janke started up the scoring with a pair of goals assisted by Jamie Morton (2), Kenny Bullock and Jake Chadwick.

Parry Sound answered back with a pair of goals, but Morton pounded the go-ahead goal assisted by Alex Beemer and Janke. Ben Muckler opened up the scoring in the third with a goal assisted by Bullock and Jake Heyblom. The Sounders managed one last goal before Heyblom put the game away with the final goal assisted by Eliot Clark.

Brett Bullen and Tanner Swift both played a fine game in sharing net.

The midgets next go up against Bracebridge and Port Carling in home and away series to determine the champion.
