Are you looking for something to enjoy with your youngster during March break?

The break may be half over, but your library still has some entertaining events Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for you to share with your kids.

If you read the Forester early on Wednesday, don’t miss the amazing Washboard Hank and his one-man band Wednesday, March 12 at the legion at 11 a.m. sponsored by the Friends and the legion.

Tickets are $3 per person (large or small) and can be obtained at the door or at the library circulation desk.

Back at the library from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, four and five-year-olds and caregivers can enjoy stories, play games and make a craft.  Friday, March 14, six to 10-year-olds can come in from 2 to 3 p.m. for stories, reading games and Jeopardy with prizes.

I wish I had asked more questions of my aunts, grandparents, great-aunts and other older relations while I had the opportunity.

If this sounds familiar, why not record some highlights of your life for your younger relations?

The stories of your life are important to your family and friends. These tales help them understand why things turned out like they did. If you can write a letter, you can write about your life.

Create a legacy for your family. Recording stories from your life will help them see you as the complicated person you are.

The guided autobiography program runs weekly, Wednesdays from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the solarium at Huntsville library. It starts March 19 and wraps up on St. George’s Day (April 23rd). Participants write about the major points of change in their life; their principal life’s work; health, money and other obstacles in life; close family and friends; and their life’s philosophy and the meaning of their life.

Members read their weekly stories aloud to the other writers in the group and discuss similarities in their experiences in a supportive, non-judgmental fashion. To register you can call the library (789-5232) or come in. There is a $10 program fee.
