Peter Mennie brings his own special brand of magic and comedy to the Algonquin Theatre on March 15

Peter Mennie, otherwise known as That Magic Guy, is bringing his own special brand of comedy and magic to Huntsville this Saturday.

Abra KID Abra is an exciting and funny show for all ages that is guaranteed to have everyone rolling in the aisles. It was loved by the audience when it played at the Algonquin Theatre in August of 2005.

The  show is specifically geared toward the family audience. Adults will enjoy the show as much as the kids, but on a different level. As in the motion picture Shrek, the kids laugh at what the donkey does, while the parents laugh at what the donkey says.

Peter Mennie is a 40-year veteran magician, who has travelled from coast to coast entertaining Canadian audiences in every conceivable venue from conference and board rooms to many of the country’s major theatres, resorts, supper clubs and arenas.

After graduating from the University of Western Ontario (B.A. theatre) and Fanshawe College (television broadcasting), Mennie toured for three years as the opening act in a Las Vegas touring show. Both the young and young-at-heart will be thrilled by Mennie’s performance, which is crammed full of audience participation, physical gags, verbal banter, funny faces and of course comical magic.

Ticket prices for the 1 p.m. performance of Abra KID Abra are $9 adult, $7 for youth 14 and under, and $28 for a family of four. They are  available at the Algonquin Theatre box office on Main Street, by calling 789-4975, or online at www.algonquintheatre.ca.
