The death occurred of Eleanor Holinshead, 86, at Fairvern Nursing Home on Feb. 9, 2008.

The deceased was born in Huntsville on March 27, 1921, the daughter of Franklin and Isabell Holinshead.

She is survived by her niece Nora Rosenberger, nephews Stanley Stanhope and Carl Croker, niece Audrey Elliot, nephews Ronald Larson, Peter and Mark Lupton, and niece Hope Richards.

Mrs. Holinshead was a telephone operator in Utterson and Port Carling. She was a member of the Utterson United Church.

Funeral service was conducted by Reverends S. Stanhope of Woodstock and C. Croker of Orillia at Billingsley’s Funeral Home on Feb. 13, 2008. Spring interment at Stephenson Cemetery, Port Sydney.

Eleanor enjoyed gardening, sewing, fishing, hiking and making maple syrup at her home at Long’s Lake, Utterson.

She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by family and friends.
