Congratulations to Bernice Greenfield, whose hard work and dedication to the community were recognized last week. On Feb. 15 comrade Bernice travelled to Queen’s Park to receive the 2007 Seniors Achievement Award presented by the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration.

Zone euchre was held in MacTier on Feb. 16 and was won by the team of Catherine Kahler, Nadine Birmingham, Steve Fisher and Randy McConnell from Branch 232, Huntsville. Other Huntsville teams to qualify for district play were Paul Jamison, Rick Bruining, Doreen Bruining and Tom Pigeon as well as Brian Thompson, Mike Whitney, Rob Thompson and Ray Kristiansen.

Bid euchre winners at the branch this week were Blanche Guest, first; May Maillet, second; and Lisa Merritt, third. Last week it was Lil Millar, first; Fred Stamper, second; and Wendy Sawyer, third.

The entire community is welcome at the delicious meals served at Branch 232 each week. The $4 Friday lunch, served 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 29 will offer a sandwich with soup or peameal on a bun with fries. The next $6 Tuesday night dinner and dessert will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Feb 29. Have a great week and see you around the branch.
