Cancer Society
Winter is still with us, but your Huntsville branch volunteers are always working to help clients in our area with transportation to and from cancer centres in Sudbury, Toronto, or wherever they are directed; with wigs and hats for women who need them; and with information on all types of cancer.
In 2007 we transported 223 clients to various centres, a distance of 14,8025 km (352 trips by our fine volunteer drivers) at a cost of $42,933.61.
You can see our need to keep on fundraising. In March we will have our Daffodil Days, and in April our door-to-door campaign.
All these things need volunteers to make them work.
If you feel you can spare a few hours please contact us at 789-9433 or join us at our monthly meetings every second Monday at 1 p.m. at the legion (second floor).
