FLAG DAY: The Union Jack flew proudly from the bow of the lake steamer “Gem”, pictured above at Port Sydney, Muskoka District, Dominion of Canada, circa 1870. This Friday, February 15, 2008 marks national flag day– a perfect time to ensure that all Canadian Maple Leaf flags are in good repair and to reflect on and respect the history and the symbols that make our Canada “fly”.
