The death occurred of Roberta (Nene) (nee Thomas) Cleverdon, 69, on Jan. 21, 2008 at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital.

The deceased was born in Toronto on June 15, 1938, the daughter of Herb and Margaret Thomas.

She lived in Huntsville for over 23 years.

She leaves behind her good friends Teresa and Sam and all the wonderful friends she had the privilege of knowing.

She was a strong supporter of the Muskoka Literacy Council as a vice president and social convener. She owned her own business, The Ginger Jar Gourmet Shop, was president and was the founder of the first chapter of the Red Hat Society in Huntsville called the Kats in Red Hats.

A memorial service will be conducted by Reverend Derek Shelly of Trinity United Church at Billingsley Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 at 11 a.m. A family interment service will be held in Toronto in the spring.

Marlene loved Muskoka and her death will leave an emptiness in all of our hearts.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Hospice Residential Home in remembrance of our Marlene would be appreciated.
