Branch 232 hosted the Zone E5 shuffleboard tournament on Feb. 2. Congratulations to the team of Sandra Rosebrugh and Don Rogers, Zone champs, second place winners Lloyd Flood and Dave Bentley. and Ray Kristiansen and Sam Stahls, who finished third. These will be among the 10 Zone E5 teams advancing to the district tournament slated for March 8 at Branch 232, Huntsville.

The branch level Public Speaking Contest was held on Feb. 3 and all participants are to be congratulated on a fantastic effort. Prizes in the junior category went to Tamara Sutherland, first; Kristen Jefferies, second; and a tie between Melissa Sawyer and Hayley Skidmore for third. In the intermediate category first went to Morgan Sallmen with Beth Leigh second and Andrea Smith third. First-place winners advance to the Zone E5 contest to be held at the Huntsville branch on March 2.

Join us in the lounge for the Branch 232 Valentine party on Friday, Feb. 15. DJ Rob McIsaac, who played for the last couple of New Year’s Eve parties, will be in the lounge for your dancing and listening pleasure from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Bid euchre winners at the branch this week were Blanche Guest, first; Marg Grant, second; Don Woolman, tied with Joy Digmard for third.  Euchre players are reminded that sign-up for the Zone E-5 competition closes Feb. 7.

The entire community is welcome at the delicious meals served at Branch 232 each week. The $4 Friday lunch, served 11:30 a.m to 1 p.m.. on Feb. 8 will offer a toasted western with soup or fries. The next Tuesday night dinner and dessert, 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 12 will feature pork chops.
