The Hidden Valley Swiss Chalet K1 Blurr team travelled to the Caledon Ski Club for a panelled slalom race on Sunday.
They were matched up against Battawa and won 293 points to 229. Podium finishers for the boys were David Taylor in first and John Sinclair in third. For the girls, Carly Reid came first, Sammi Eydt finished second, and Aria Alizadeh captured third.
The Blurr had eight racers in the top 25. Out of all 64 racers (boys and girls), Taylor was third, Sinclair was fifth, Reid eighth and Eydt 10th.
The Miele J Alpine Hidden Valley teams travelled to the Oshawa Ski Club for a slalom race on Sunday. The Lightning and Thunder teams both dominated their race and took all six podium positions and scored the highest possible score by taking all seven top spots for each race.
The Lightning team defeated Cobble Hills from London by a score of 306 to 188. Kyle Litchfield had the fastest time of the day and finished in first place. Leigh Cameron, Peter Weber, and Darcy Wiltshire raced to second, third, and fourth place finishes respectively. The girls took first, second, and third with Taylor Reid in the top podium spot and team mates Heather Sinclair and Kelly Harper taking the next two positions respectively.
Team Thunder defeated the Chedoke team from Hamilton by a score of 306 to 160. Michael Sinclair was first, Scott Litchfield second, Samuel Levy third, and Stefan Ruby fourth.
The girls also had a great race and dominated the podium. Chelsea Alexander took first place while teammates Michaela Ruby and Alex Rawn took second and third respectively.
This past weekend was the Swiss Chalet K2 Allstars event, which involves the top racers from each southern Ontario club racing against each other in a slalom race and a giant slalom race.
The Hidden Valley Heat team had four racers qualify for this event. They were Katie Harper and Dara Howell for the girls, and Luke Howell and Ben Zakaib for the boys. There were 53 male and 53 female racers participating.
The slalom was held at Horseshoe Valley Ski Club in Orillia on Saturday. Harper raced to an 18th place finish, while Dara Howell took 20th place, Luke Howell 26th place, and Zakaib 37th place.
The giant slalom on Sunday was a very tight course at the Toronto Ski Club that resulted in several falls.
All four Hidden Valley racers completed their two runs.
Hidden Valley will be hosting a double header race for the K1 group on Saturday and a slalom race on Sunday for the J Alpine teams.
