Congratulations to Dave Mills and Arnold Hodgson, winners of the Orrin Bruce Memorial Snooker Tournament held at Branch 232 this weekend. Second place went to Ernie MacDonald and Rick Clare, while Ray Kristiansen and Geoff Swift finished third.

Bid euchre winner this week was Fred Stamper followed by Wendy Sawyer and Jean McDonald. Euchre players are reminded that signup for the Zone E-5 competition closes Feb. 6.

The entire community is welcome at the delicious meals served at Branch 232 each week. The $4 Friday lunch, served 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Feb. 1 will offer a choice of soup and a sandwich or a meatball sub and fries. The next Tuesday night dinner and dessert, 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Feb 5 will feature spaghetti with meat sauce.

Join us in the lounge for the Branch 232 Valentine party on Friday, Feb. 15. DJ Rob McIsaac, who played for the last couple of New Year’s Eve parties, will be in the lounge for your dancing and listening pleasure from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Everyone’s welcome to attend the branch level competition for the Royal Canadian Legion’s Ontario Public Speaking Contest to be held on Sunday, Feb. 3 with registration starting at 12:30 p.m. and speaking set to begin a 1 p.m.

Also on Feb. 3, there will be a meeting of the Ladies’ Auxilliary in the lounge at 1:30 p.m. This meeting has been moved to make it possible for the Zone commander to attend. Have a great week and see you around the branch.
