We can only imagine the hardship involved in the work of cleaning up after dirty flood water in the 1920s: no general standard use of indoor plumbing, central heating, electric power, telephone communication or the wireless and electronic gadgetry and disposable products commonly and readily available today.

Our hearts go out to all those doing the dirty work of cleaning up after last week’s flood.
