Everyone loves a party. . . and that’s the theory that we try to work with when we plan events for downtown Huntsville. Of course, not everyone likes the same party – which makes it a little more complicated.
This past year, we organized the Firefly Festival (Midnight Madness), Summer Sidewalk Adventure, Shades of Autumn Car Show, and the new Girlfriend Getaway Weekend.
Our motivations are varied. We obviously want to grow downtown Huntsville as a place to visit (and shop), but we also want to keep it vibrant and interesting for both local residents and visitors.
The events give us a focal point to promote the downtown and offer some entertainment value at the same time.
We find that when a group is brainstorming ideas, the more varied and inevitably more creative thoughts come when that group is larger. This makes sense to me since there are more minds at work.
So, we thought why not bring the whole town in on this, and ask for ideas that you may be harbouring to make downtown Huntsville more of a place for you and your friends to go to.
It could be an event, a promotion, something physical, something emotional – anything! We’d love to have your ideas to add to our pot and create an even better place to come to and enjoy.
