Scott McClelland takes an entertaining look at the scientifically unexplained.
The dictionary defines the word paranormal as: powers whose operation is outside the scope of known laws of nature or normal objective investigation.
The cultural fascination with Victorian mysticism has been explored through movies such as The Prestige and The Illusionist and television shows, Hauntings, Supernatural and Medium. Now, an all-new live production titled The Paranormal Show is coming to the Algonquin Theatre stage on Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.
The Paranormal Show, featuring Scott McClelland, is a spectacular assortment of inexplicable feats that will make the audience question everything they thought they understood about reality. Non-stop audience participation makes this show a unique experience for everyone.
Originally playing to sold-out houses at Toronto’s Poor Alex Theatre every Saturday night for two years, The Paranormal Show has expanded. Telekinesis, mind control, retrocognition and hypnotism share the stage with an actual seance and much more.
A tribute to the heyday of live entertainment, many of these feats have been passed down through the generations. McClelland’s grandfather was a pioneer of the paranormal. Now, McClelland shares his grandfather’s dark and mysterious secrets with audiences across the country.
Though science has debunked many myths that evoked awe in our forefathers, there remains an unyielding, perhaps unconscious desire in mankind to accept supernatural events that cannot be rationalized.
Have you ever wondered what possibilities lie outside the boundaries of human experience? If the answer is yes, then it is time to take a journey into the unknown, an incredible world where science has no place.
The Paranormal Show is a reminder that with all of the technology there is today, one of the biggest questions to ever plague mankind that remains unanswered: Where do we go when we pass on? And why do we exist?
Whether or not that question is answered, showgoers are guaranteed to walk away from The Paranormal Show feeling a stronger sense that there is still mystery and wonder in the 21st century.
Some of the paranormal feats that will be seen on stage include:
• a game of Russian roulette with a nine-inch spike,
• experiencing a deeper super-conscious state,
• the transmission and reception of thoughts from one mind to another,
• a perception of objects, persons or events without the use of the senses,
• the ability to cause objects to move with the mind,
• the summoning of sentient energy,
• the ability to perceive past events, and
• the prediction of future events.
