Huntsville Public Library

Mark your calendar for Aug. 23 at  11 a.m. when Huntsville Reads, the author event series sponsored by the Friends of the Library, is pleased to welcome mystery  writer Joan Boswell.

Boswell’s first full-length mystery novel, Cut Off His Tale, was published in 2005 and this year her second, Cut to the Quick, is hot off the press.   Admission for the event is by donation to the Friends.

Mystery lovers will know Boswell as a member of the Ladies’ Killing Circle.  She has had stories in each of their six books, which started off  with The Ladies Killing Circle and included Cottage Country Killers and Menopause is Murder. Boswell will be one of the editors of the seventh collection of stories, expected to be published in 2008.

Boswell has a BA in Economics and History from the University of New Brunswick, an MA in Canadian Studies from Carleton University and a Ph.D. from the University of Ottawa. Following her love of painting, she obtained a BFA from the University of Ottawa and has had 10 solo shows and four posters produced by Posters International. With such a diverse background it’s no wonder her writing is flavoured with a richness drawn from multiple layers of experience.

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet a “woman of mystery.” Don’t miss it.
