Friends of the Library, Huntsville Festival of the Arts and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 232 will combine to provide a unique entertainment experience when Mad Science returns to perform at the Royal Canadian Legion on Thursday, Aug. 9 at 11 a.m. Affordable tickets are available at the library and at the door for $3 per person large or small, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors.
This year’s show is called Up Up and Away. The show features hot-air balloons, giant beach balls floating in mid-air and the Mad Science floating hovercraft. Mad Science shows are fun, interactive and educational experiences. They have been carefully designed to reach a broad-spectrum family audience while incorporating real-life applications.
They are filled with the latest in special effects, hilarious antics and cool science. Prepare to be “edutained” while witnessing truly amazing scientific phenomena. Mad Science engages children, so much so that they forget they are learning.
Several organizations, including Timothy J. Hamilton of Walt Disney Entertainment, attest to the success of Mad Science shows: “The Mad Science team seems to have found the winning formula to do just that: make science fun!” James A. Dorkind, special assistant to the president, commented that the Mad Science “organization is helping to spark children’s interest in science and prepare them for a lifetime of imaginative investigation.”
