Come celebrate the publication of Roy MacGregor’s latest book, Canadians; a Portrait of a Country and Its People, on Friday, July 27 at 11 a.m at the Huntsville Public Library. Roy will be the guest author of Huntsville Reads 2007, the author-reading series sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Everyone is welcome and admission is by donation.

After growing up in Huntsville, Roy has gained acclaim as one of Canada’s finest journalists. His career with the National Post, the Ottawa Citizen, MacLean’s Magazine, the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail has taken him around the world as well as coast to coast in Canada.

He has been a first-hand observer at such pivotal events as Meech Lake, the 2006 Winter Olympics and the funeral of Pierre Elliott Trudeau. Who could be more qualified to look at, and discuss the question, “Who are we?”

As he attempts to explain Canada to Canadians through snapshots that capture our diversity, our attention is captivated by his passion for his subject as well as by his sense of humour.

This is an opportunity to meet one of Huntsville’s favourite authors. His many previous books have gained a wide and enthusiastic readership. Canadians will undoubtedly become another favourite.
