OPP hiring cadets
May 14, 2008

The Ontario Provincial Police have recently expanded the current hiring process to include cadets. Successful applicants will be deployed to detachments throughout the province and will work directly with officers and detachment administrators in a support capacity. The experience would be tremendous for anyone with an interest in a law enforcement career.

The cadet program within the OPP started in 1963 with the intent of introducing young applicants to a career in policing. Since the program’s inception, a cadet’s roles and responsibilities have grown to incorporate front line policing skills of assisting officers with criminal and traffic investigations, collection of data, assisting with the security of property and evidence and community relations events.

Interested candidates are encouraged to review the hiring information and necessary documents that are available on the OPP website www.opp.ca.  Applicants need to submit a covering letter along with all of the documents to OPP General Headquarters in Orillia at their earliest opportunity.
