This year, the annual musical at the Riverside Public School is titled Into the Woods. The play is a combination of fairy tales that will include characters from Cinderella, Rapunzel, Jack and the Bean Stalk and Little Red Riding Hood.
The story develops around a spell that the witch has cast on the baker.
During the performance the baker and his wife are in search of four items in order to be able to have a child. The fractured fairy tale comes to life when the couple encounters various situations during their pursuit. Will Cinderella go to the ball? Who will buy Milky White? The cast includes students from Grades 7 and 8.
Members of the public are invited to attend the evening performances, which will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14 and Thursday, May 15. Admission is $3. All performances will take place in the gymnasium at Riverside Public School on Brunel Rd.
