Club 55 is open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 4  p.m. Drop in and have some fellowship, a game or just a rest and a refreshment. For more information about events at the club please call 789-9783.

Cribbage winners from Monday, April 22 were: first, Gladys McQuinn; second, Jane Skerritt; third, Ted Skerritt. Cribbage is played every Monday at 1 p.m.

April 24 bridge winners: first, Pat and Lynn Fletcher; second, Ethel Iltor and Ann Hough; third, Fran and George Morrison.

April 25 bridge winners: first, Peter Ferguson, 4,170; second, Helen Chantler, 4,000; third, Bea Groh, 3,770.

April 25 euchre winners: women’s high, Betty Humphrey, 75; second, Karen DeSilva, 66; men’s high, Edith Wainwright, 72; second, Keith Crozier, 70; most lone hands, Ed Butikofer, six.

Thank you goes out to Edrie Mathias, who put on the dance Saturday, April 26 at the club. The music was by Grenville Hall and Friends. The round and square dancers from the Centennial Centre were at the dance and some guests from Gravenhurst.

Many thanks go out to Bill Earl and Anita Denny for calling so many square dances. It was fun to square dance and to sit back and watch the others. Thank you goes out to the square dancers, who showed the newcomers how to do it. The evening was a great success.

Anita Denny and Don Burns celebrated birthdays. A lovely lunch was served after the dance and enjoyed by all. Many thanks go out to all who made the evening such a success.

Dave Bently did not come out the winner on Wednesday April 30, playing hand and foot, but he had the best hand ever, catching us all with our foot not played. Beginner’s luck, Dave said. Marie still had enough score to be the top winner for the day.

Club 55 donated to the Rowanwood residents’ fund. Many members will miss going to Rowanwood each month, playing and singing music for the residents. Rowanwood was to be our host at a shuffleboard tournament this year. Many of the members will miss the contact they have had with Rowanwood and its residents.

Muskoka Games for Seniors will be held from June 9 to 18. Deadline for registration is June 1.
