Congratulations to Ted Morris on his marriage to Ruth Rutter on Saturday, May 3 in Lindsay. On behalf of the community, I wish Ted and Ruth all the best.
Twenty-three people and one dog pitched in on Saturday, May 3 to pick up litter in and around the village. Helpers from the Dorset Volunteer Fire Department, the Dorset Lions Club, Dorset Community Policing and several individuals all met at the Dorset Recreation Centre to pick up supplies and to pick their location for cleanup. A big thank you goes out to all the volunteers who came out to help. The village looks great!
I had a great time pitching in with my dog Cosmo on Russell Landing Road. Cosmo wanted to work and was a great help recovering discarded water bottles from the wet and muddy ditches. Thank you, Cosmo.
There were some very interesting items found during pitch in: a John Deere baseball cap and an old culvert. By far the most frequently found item was the plastic tip from those small cigars. So, whoever is smoking those things, we would all appreciate it if you would butt out in your ashtray instead of throwing them out of your car window.
