Huntsville skaters do club proud at 30th annual Skokie Skate

This weekend’s Skokie Skate Competition put on by the Huntsville Skating Club was a roaring success.

The well-organized event showed off the ability of over 250 skaters from 40 different skating clubs.

With the implementation of the new Cumulative Points Calculation judging system, there was a new element added to the 30-year-old competition that produced an increased level of excitement among the skaters.

The club is  proud to say that the enrollment was up this year and we hope to make it a three-day event next year.

The Huntsville skaters proved once again that we can step up and strut our stuff. Here are the results of the Huntsville skaters from this weekend’s Skokie Skate competition:

Test stream – Claire Jarvis, first; Peyton Burmeister, second; Aubrey Creasor, eighth; Mary MacMillian, second, Amanda Moring, fourth; Elizabeth MacNeil, fourth; Olivia Cain, fifth; Alexandra MacMillian, fourth; Connor MacMillian, second.

Elements – Claire Jarvis, sixth; Connor MacMillian second; Mary MacMillian, second, Alexandra MacMillian, ninth.

Competitive – Jacob Cryderman, exhibition long and short, first.

Interpretive – Emily Maw, fourth.
